Desde el blog de Fuckowski me entero de este importantísimo aviso, para el que pide la máxima difusión posible. Si no se lo envías a 25 contactos en los próximos 2 minutos se te caerán los dientes, tus padres/hijos/mascota (táchese lo que no proceda) te echarán de casa y te quedarás estéril para toda tu vida.

En los próximos días podrían recibir de una persona conocida dos cajas de pastelitos de nata con la inscripción “Cumpleaños Feliz!!!”. Si las reciben, POR FAVOR, ES MUY IMPORTANTE QUE NO LAS PONGAN UNA ENCIMA DE OTRA, QUE SE APLASTAN. Los pastelitos de la caja de abajo quedarían AUTOMATICAMENTE DESTRUIDOS Y NO SE PODRIAN RECUPERAR.

Si reciben los pastelitos MÉTANLOS INMEDIATAMENTE EN LA NEVERA y salgan de la casa. Deben de hestar hatentos. Es el peor desastre de repostería que haya existido. Ya ha sido anunciado por Bollycao® y Panrico® y no hay arreglo aún.

Por favor ENVIEN ESTE MENSAJE A TODOS SUS CONTACTOS, FAMILIARES Y AMIGOS, EX NOVIAS, POLVOS OCASIONALES Y A UN SEÑOR DE CUENCA. Es preferible enviar este mensaje 25 veces que dejar que se destruyan miles de pastelitos de nata.

Bueno, pretendía dejarlo así y ya está, pensaba que se entendería, pero parece que he sobrestimado al vulgo, así que aclararé que se trata de una parodia de los e-mails en cadena.

Y hablando de Fuckowski (alter ego de Alfredo de Hoces), tras haber disfrutado sus Memorias de un ingeniero, me enteré recientemente de que acaba de empezar una tira cómica con ese humor que tanto lo caracteriza en colaboración con Javier Malonda (autor de la tira ECOL, El sentido de la vida, ...).

¿Ha llegado la guerra sucia por las audencias a los blogs y periódicos gratuitos? No, parece que es más bien ganas de fastidiar. Y entre los que más ganas de fastidiar tienen, 20 minutos destaca con excelencia, a veces incluso repitiendo el spoiler durante varios números o llevándolos a la portada. A continuación, una selección de sus mejores spoilers gratuitos (ojo, yo sí que aviso, si no quieres que te desvele detalles del argumento de tus series y comics favoritos no sigas leyendo). Y una buena explicación del asunto en Volatilis.

Ratón encima de "Ver spoiler" para ver el enlace y el tema del spoiler. Usuarios de MSIE: se siente, estoy harto de romperme la cabeza para solucionar los problemas de ese navegador, así que para vosotros los spoilers van a la vista.

Me entero vía Microsiervos de que el código númerico que identifica a cada billete de euro acaba de ser descifrado: se trata del código de país, el número de serie y un checksum o suma de comprobación; al igual que los extraños números que tiene el DNI por detrás, también de comprobación, descifrados hace un par de años por Josep Portella.

Hasta se han publicado herramientas basándose en estos estudios para comprobar la validez de billetes y DNIs.

Bueno, ya tienes todos los datos, ahora a imprimir ;-). ¿Que no puedes? Eso es por la constelación de Eurión, hombre.

Y también vía Microsiervos me entero de que, lo que la organización no lucrativa ZapMeNow sueña, la empresa Jet Pack International lo hace realidad: por primera vez acaban de salir al mercado los jet packs. Wacko Jacko ya no necesitará subcontratar este espectáculo, pues podrá comprarse su propio jet pack... bueno, igual ahora precisamente no puede.

If you don't know it you should try it. Neverball is one of the best free games (thanks, Adian), based on Monkey Target minigame from Super Monkey Ball. It's a bit difficult the first time, but then it becomes quite entertaining and very addictive.

In one of those nightly Neverball sessions two days ago, this time with PedrE, we got the idea: Why only three lifes? It's very annoying when you are obstinate to have only three tries and you have to go back to main menu to select again the same level. Why we can't have infinite lifes?. Well, here it is, the patch to be able to set up the number of balls in Neverball. You have to use balls option in ~/.neverball/neverballrc file, with negative values meaning infinite balls.

Of course, a Gentoo ebuild is also available with this patch ;-).

Tras meses de trabajo y frustraciones por fin puede salir a la luz. Ya está aqui, un trabajo conjuto con Litos, la primera tienda online de estores y persianas venecianas con videotutoriales de montaje y simulador de persianas: LosEstores.com. Hecha exclusivamente con software libre (LAMP + GIMP + MPlayer + VLC) y hospedada en SDF, una organización no lucrativa de más de 30.000 miembros (en su mayoría relacionados con la informática).

Desde el departamento de desarrollo web y veneración de Internet Explorer os invitamos a que nos visitéis y nos deis muchos beneficios, que vamos a comisión ;-)

As soon as I knew about Safari for Windows I knew what I want to do: after being able to run Internet Explorer on Linux it's time to do the same with Safari.
It's not easy, but when you know what you have to do it isn't difficult. And if you see how does it works on Windows:

you can either expect great things with Wine

These are the steps needed in order to be able to run Safari on Linux using Wine.

1. Recompile wine using this patch to fix Wine bug #8674. If you are using Gentoo you can download my patched ebuild.
   (no longer needed since version 0.9.39)
2. Install Visual C++ 2005 libraries, either downloading the package and installing it with Wine or using winetricks script.
3. Download and install Safari for Windows unchecking automatic updates while installing.

Internet Explorer installation is much more easy, you only have to run IES 4 Linux script: one for versions 5, 5.5 and 6 and another for version 7.

Now everybody can run on Linux any of the majority web browsers, something very appreciated for a Linux user and webmaster.

Jëkýll & Hyde is a powerful and useful toolbar and menu set for Opera, but its last version was designed over Opera 8, so it doesn't include support for some features introduced in version 9, such as Create search or Content Blocking, so when you install this toolbar yo lose this options.

I've made a modified version of Jëkýll & Hyde tooblar to include support to those features and some other improvements and fixes. Some of the changes included:

• Create search
• Content Blocking
• Developer console
• Deleted less used buttons and text in buttons so the bar isn't so large.
• Show/hide scrollbar and navigation bar.
• History view menu didn't work well.
• Enhanced back button.

I know I've already criticized Internet Explorer because of its distinctive way to interpret standars. But then I found the bug-of-the-day issue which means that Internet Explorer will give you an unexpected behavior failing where other browsers get success, so you must waste even hours or sometimes days to guess that what's going wrong this time with Microsoft's most (in)famous product may be:

• If a JavaScript function modifies the src attribute in a <img> tag, but it doesn't do it at the end of the function, the loading of the image may be canceled.
• An <IMG> tag with id and name but without src (common case of a image that will be manipulated through JavaScript) causes to loss session variables unexpectedly.
• If you change a <div> visibility style from hidden to visible, sometimes this change is not applied to the child objects which should inherit this property.
• IE doesn't support position: fixed;.
• PNGs using alpha channel for transparency show black background instead of transparency in IE.
• If you create an object with document.createElement() and then append it to content with appendChild() it won't be initialized, you should use innerHTML property or inserBefore() or similar.
• onmouseover event doesn't work over transparent backgrounds.

These are the most recent that I can't remember now, but any web developer can surely apport much more. Many of these bugs has been solved in Internet Explorer 7, but 5.5 and 6.0 are still the most used.

I would be able to write a book with Safari problems with JavaScript if I rememeber all I had.

Since I don't know about any utility to free disk space and what I rm to get free disk space is always the same (Portage temp files, thumbnails, kernel temp files, ...) I decided to make a quick-and-dirty script with graphical interface which automates the process.

I named it Amelia in memory of the cleaning woman used by my teacher school to threaten us, if you are interested in this utility:
